So preparation for the bode is going well, rucksack is virtually fully packed- had a scary moment yesterday when I was feeling quite smug and cocky because my bag weighed far less than the aeroplane limit and I could lift it with ease……only to discover a whole pile of essential possessions I had somehow missed and now my bag can barely close and I struggle to get it on my back, let alone walk with it. But I keep telling myself that carrying the bag will build arm muscles, so it doesn’t matter that im pretty sure I was born without any.|
As the bode situation is going quite well I have turned my gaze (not to the east like Hitler) but to deciding my university and it has me flummoxed. It is between Leeds and Newcastle (I decided against Sheffield which is at least something) and I have not the foggiest idea how I will chose. The situation at the moment is that Newcastle has a nicer course but for some inexplicable reason I am preferring Leeds but I cant understand why. So I have been looking on websites which tell me facts about the two unis but that is bringing me no closer as I don’t understand what facts should be important when deciding and I would be grateful (this is directed to all ye university goers) if you could tell me what has proven important to you at university so I can better gage whether it is vital whether the uni has a big sports facility or a lively gay scene for example (though clearly the lively gay scene is going to be a major draw!) and also if you could tell me what you see as the pros and cons of your unis it would be muy helpful. This is proving most hard and I would be grateful for any help over this issue and also if you have any insider information about the two places it would help me.
I will also need to pick my accomodation pretty soon so if you have any advice eg catered vs self-catered etc etc then i would love to hear it.
Merci Merci buckets
